Refilling your cup

Updated: Jun 10

We have spoken before about how important it is to Empty Your Cup in order to mitigate the stressors that occur in your life. Now, the next vital step is to re-energize yourself and fill your cup..

I had a new client ask me a simple yet very important question “ How do you fill your cup?”

I was taken back because most people are just looking for the next thing to optimize and enhance. This question was much more than that. She was asking how I replenish myself each day.

It was a great question. She was right. The way in which I enjoy working with clients both in therapy and coaching, is very energetic. You see, all of us transmit a certain frequency. Each interaction there is a transference of energy that happens. Especially when working one on one.

It's very fulfilling work, but it can be draining if left unchecked.

Like most questions, there is no simple black and white answer. You see, it depends.

Once you Empty Your Cup, and remove the excess in your day to day you have now created a fertile opportunity to nurture your mind, body, and soul on a deeper level.

Now how it depends on you and what energizes you.

What about your daily practice fills you up with joy and strength?

For me, like I told my client, one of those things is movement. My training allows me to release the excess of the day, almost like a detox. At the same time, my entire training session has one intention and that is to nurture, build, and replenish my mind, body, and soul. The physical attributes are a byproduct of the work I consistently put in.

Each breath, each repetition, and each heart beat provides me an opportunity to silence the word, slow down my mind, and dig deeper into myself. For me, that's where the work happens. This is where I am able to see all the pieces of myself, remove the excess, and rebuild from the inside - out.

You can ask 100 people the same question my client asked me and get 100 different answers. There is no “right or wrong” answer but only the one you connect with.

How deep the work or the type of work is totally up to you.

So, do something today that brings you joy and strength and let it nurture, build, and replenish your mind, body, and soul.
